Driving Community Impact Through Recycled Rides® Volunteerism
At Crash Champions, we believe in putting People First. Always. National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to recognize the many ways our teams and partners come together to support individuals and communities across our network.
One significant program our organization is proud to support is National Auto Body Council (NABC) Recycled Rides®, which provides people in need with transportation in the form of restored vehicles. These donations provide the recipients a sense of independence, stability, and hope as they navigate personal challenges.
Here’s a look at our 2026 donations:
Providing Stability for a Veteran in California
At the NABC® Palm Springs Changing and Saving Lives Golf Fundraiser, U.S. Navy veteran Kevin James received the keys to a fully restored 2021 Honda Civic, made possible through collaboration between Crash Champions and industry partners.
For Kevin and his family, dependable transportation supports everyday needs, such as commuting to work and bringing children to school. It’s a reminder that something as simple as a vehicle can make a meaningful impact on a family’s day-to-day life.
Supporting a Community Volunteer in Florida
In Port Charlotte, an NABC Recycled Rides® vehicle presentation took place during the 6th Annual Furry Scurry 5K, which brought together community members, volunteers, and industry partners for a shared purpose.
During the event, Kathleen “Kelle” Flynn Elmes was presented with a fully restored 2021 Kia Sportage LX.
Kelle has spent years giving back through dog therapy work, supporting patients in hospitals and residents in nursing homes. After facing transportation challenges, the gift of a reliable vehicle allows her to continue her work, maintain employment, and stay connected to the community she serves.
Creating Flexibility for a Veteran in Texas
Most recently, at the NABC® Lone Star Changing and Saving Lives Golf Fundraiser, industry partners and American GI Forum Veteran Outreach came together to support Marcellus Mitchell, who was presented with a refurbished 2018 Toyota C-HR XLE.
With reliable transportation, Mitchell now has greater flexibility to manage daily responsibilities and continue building a stable path forward, highlighting how industry-wide collaboration can create lasting, positive change.
An Ongoing Commitment to Giving Back
Volunteer efforts like these are part of our broader commitment to supporting people when they need it most. Through the Recycled Rides® program, collision repair professionals, insurers, and partners work together to restore vehicles and provide critical resources to deserving individuals and families across the country. Since 2021, more than 100 vehicles have been restored and donated through these efforts.
As we recognize National Volunteer Week, we are reminded that meaningful impact often comes from simple acts of service. Whether it’s restoring a vehicle or supporting someone on their journey to a better future, these efforts reflect what’s possible when people come together with a shared purpose.
At Crash Champions, that commitment extends beyond our collision repair services — because helping people is at the heart of everything we do.
