A U.S. Army veteran who served two tours of duty overseas was recognized for his heroic service and continued commitment to helping local veterans on Wednesday with keys to a donated vehicle on behalf of Crash Champions and Allstate.

The event took place at Crash Champions Deer Park as part of the National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) Recycled Rides® program.

Terence King, who served in the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, was nominated for the giveaway by the PTSD Foundation of America, where he currently serves as a logistics coordinator.

"This is a truly wonderful act of generosity that will have a lasting impact on my life, and I am incredibly grateful to everyone involved in today's giveaway," King said. "This vehicle is about more than just transportation. It's a symbol of personal freedom and progress towards a fulfilling life. I'd like to thank Allstate, Crash Champions and everyone who volunteered their time to make today a reality.”

The vehicle, a fully restored 2018 Toyota Camry, will provide King with a reliable means of personal transportation as he continues his transition to civilian life. The Camry was restored to like-new condition by certified technicians from Crash Champions’ Deer Park repair center and donated for the giveaway by Allstate.

“The Crash Champions team is honored to take part in this special giveaway for Mr. King,” said Matt Ebert, Crash Champions founder and CEO. “We all owe him a debt of gratitude for his selfless service as a member of the revered 1st Cavalry Division, and their service to our country. It’s our hope that this small token of that gratitude will continue to fuel his pursuit to give back to fellow veterans and heroes.”

NABC Recycled Rides® is a transformative program that unites several areas of the automotive collision repair industry in pursuit of restoring and donating vehicles to individuals and families in need of reliable transportation. Since the inception of the NABC Recycled Rides® program in 2007, members of the National Auto Body Council® have donated more than 3,200 vehicles valued at $46 million.

Crash Champions has taken part in more than 60 Recycled Rides® giveaways across the country in the past two years.
